    Founder & CEO of Locations Africa

    With over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, having lead the Marketing and Communications team of the National Film and Video Foundation of South Africa, the national agency tasked with creating an enabling environment for film, Azania has represented the interests of filmmakers both South African and African, as well as their film product globally. She currently runs a Content and Production company alongside Locations Africa, builds marketing and digital strategies for content promotion and is the co-founder of www.bozapix.com the stock footage and imagery website for African imagery.

    Azania facilitates local and international filmmakers to shoot across the continent. Her driving aim is to position Africa as a key destination for Content production and distribution of African content.

    Locations Africa is dream come true as a promotion and information platform to promote Africa’s ability and response to you shooting and producing in Africa.

    Blingola Productions

    Bongiwe Selane is an award-winning producer who has produced across several mediums, including commissioned serial content, multiple short films, feature films and a documentary series. Her credits and accolades include Culture Shock, the 2013 SAFTA winner for best reality show and Best South African Short Film at The Durban International Film Festival in 2015 for uNomalanga and The Witch. She was the first recipient of the NFVF’s Female Only Filmmakers Project, which saw her produce 26 short narrative films by women filmmakers. Happiness is a Four-Letter Word is her debut feature film, released in February 2016 and is the best performing local film of 2016 in South Africa. Happiness Ever After is the sequel to Happiness is a Four-Letter Word and is currently streaming on Netflix in 190 countries.
    Bongiwe co-produced the award-winning film This is not a Burial, it’s a Resurrection by writer/director Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese which won the Visionary Award at Sundance in 2020.
    She is currently in post-production on Samantha Nell’s debut feature film titled Do Your Worst and is financing Miles from Nowhere, another feature film written and to be directed by Samantha Nell. Bongiwe is also in late development on a film adaptation of Kopano Matlwa debut novel, Coconut.

    Bongiwe is an alumnus of the Durban Film Mart, the Rotterdam Producers Lab, La Fabrique Cinema de L’Institute Francais (Cannes), Produire au Sud Workshop in Nantes France, and the prestigious Venice Biennale Cinema College. In 2018, she was awarded a full scholarship by Creative Media Europe to participate in the year-long EAVE Producers Workshop (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs) and is currently serving as the African Ambassador for EAVE.

    Through AAA Entertainment his work pushes innovation in both production, sales
    and distribution across South Africa, the continent, and the world, from TV and
    cinema to new mobile content.

    Patrick is a standing member for the International Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences (Emmy’s) and has judged for them on a number of occasions. With regular attendance of numerous Film, Commercial and TV Festivals, Patrick ensures he remains current with industry trends and role players.

    Patrick’s connection and commitment to the film, commercial and television production industry is a real benefit for ShootAway Production clients. He is the chairman and originator of the Official South African Casting Association (OSCASA), He works to improve and sustain the industry whilst still performing occasionally in front of camera. With corporate experience in logistics, marketing at executive level, budgeting and scheduling are strong skills.

    His hands-on involvement and understanding of policy and the business side of the industry mean that our clients are assured of a strong foundation and associated support with respect to the facilitation of their productions. Your flight is in good hands with our Pilot – who also throws himself around a race track occasionally.
